New Site New CMS + Website Design & Development on MODX

I have been working with Benjamin Marte from BMV Interactive on multiple projects. He introduced me to something that changed the way I will build sites, it's name. MODX.

This content management system is a little daunting the first time you log in, and does have a steep learning curve. Fortunately there is a great community of people willing to help. So if you're a serious developer, MODX is for you.

I had been planning on redesigning Number Five One and when I started using MODX I knew I had to build it on my new favorite CMS. The entire site (including the blog) is contained in MODX. With form customization I have a custom back-end when I am entering new portfolio items with multiple image uploads and textareas for related information.

I will be contributing tutorials for MODX to a new site Ben is developing called MODX Tricks. I have been able to spend time learning MODX through trial and error so I thought I would try and save you a few hours (or days/nights) by sharing how I learned how to do things such as: Setup user permissions, Form Customization and much more.
